Winnipeg, Manitoba – June 17th, 2025 – When crisis strikes, community matters more than ever. In response to the devastating wildfires that swept across Manitoba, the team at ONE Insurance quickly mobilized to support families displaced by the disaster. Through our “Because We Care” initiative, we launched a coordinated relief effort that included a supply drive, employee donations, and a company-matched contribution.
Our team came together to provide more than just financial aid, we delivered comfort and care, such as baby supplies, toys, bottled water, hygiene products, and snacks. This was an act of CARE, it was about showing up, being present, and offering support when it was needed most.
Thanks to additional matching contributions from the Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba (IBAM), the Government of Manitoba, and the Federal Government, our initial $7,000+ donation grew to over $30,000 in support of wildfire relief efforts. We’re proud to stand alongside community organizations and individuals who opened their doors and hearts to help those affected.
One of the most inspiring examples of our team’s dedication is Shaun De Boer, a valued ONE Insurance employee and volunteer firefighter for the City of Selkirk. Shaun was on the front lines up north, battling the flames and protecting communities directly impacted by the wildfires. His courage and selflessness embody the spirit of service that defines our team. We are incredibly proud of Shaun and all our employees who volunteer their time to help others in times of need.
This effort is just one example of the impact of our “Because We Care” program — ONE Insurance’s ongoing charitable initiative dedicated to uplifting communities throughout Manitoba. Each year, we contribute monetary support to local grassroots causes, and community-driven projects. Our commitment reflects a deep belief in fostering growth, unity, and resilience in the neighborhoods we serve.
